DIGS Parent and Athlete contract
DIGS is a Christian-based volleyball club that invokes scripture along with prayer to holistically develop athletes spiritually, mentally and physically.
As a parent, I permit my child to participate in DIGS Volleyball Club. We have discussed the risks, commitments, and sacrifices involved and are committed to contributing to the success of the program through a positive attitude and work ethic. I understand and accept the financial and time obligations of participating with the following in mind:
- I understand that team selections are made by a group of experienced coaches. I trust their collective judgment and will support my child and the team.
- I understand that if my child experiences any issues with their team or teammates, they are first responsible to personally discussing the issue with the player(s)and/or the coach. If further discussion is needed please reference the grievance procedure for next steps.
- I understand that I will withhold any negative comments directed towards athletes, coaches and referees.
- I understand that if I need to speak with the Club Director in regard to a practice or tournament, I will wait 24 hours after the last event before doing so. However, I also understand the Club Director will not discuss my athlete’s playing time or any other athlete’s position on the team.
- I understand that playing time is not a given and that it is ultimately a coach’s decision in regards to this matter. It is not my responsibility to speak to the coach regarding this matter, but rather my athlete’s responsibility.
- I understand that once my athlete is selected for a team, I am responsible for paying the non-refundable club fees by the posted due date(s). (Please review the Financial Policy below).
- I understand that Club fees do not include athlete travel, food, or lodging expenses.
- I understand that I am a role model and will conduct myself accordingly at all times – with appropriate sportsmanship.
- I understand that I may be asked to refrain from attending practices and tournaments if my conduct is inappropriate.
- I understand that it is ultimately my responsibility to see that my athlete is at all practices, games and any miscellaneous team functions on time.
